We’re pretty sure that Charlie started her life with a needle and thread. As long as she can remember, she’s had a huge passion for designing and creating unique handmade fashions for men and women. She began learning basic alterations from her mother at age seven, a self taught seamstress she learned primarily from her mothers college textbooks and class projects. As an adult she began creating couture pieces for costumes and recycling items from thrift stores to create new pieces. This is where she really got the feeling that she had a passion for creating beautiful and unique designs, from scratch and recycled items.
Invisible Hero was founded in 2004 in the swirling vortex that is San Francisco. Designer Charlie B. who at the time was a local San Francisco DJ set up her clothing studio as a way to provide unique one of a kind costumes to her eclectic group of promoters, back up dancers, performers and friends. Soon her studio/apartment in the basement was a weekly hangout for the newest fashions and biggest socialites.
Invisible Hero has costumed burlesque troupes, performance artists, scene queens and everyone in between. An independent high fashion runway staple in the bay area for over 10 years with a passion for wearable environmentally friendly designs.
